The scanner needs to scan you PALM, not your finger! Therefore, position your palm about 2-5 cm away from the camera.
Normally, the scanner lights up with a flashing red-green-blue light, when a hand/palm is moving in front of the sensor. If there is no flashing light when a hand is placed in front of it, check the following:
1) Orange light above the code block is lit up and not blinking?
Yes, proceed to point 2.
No - if not, press some buttons lightly to see if the system reacts in any way. If not, there is probably no electricity on the system - wait a moment to see if it is just a quick outage. If it is not a quick outage, (and no power outage in the area), contact First Level Support immediately.
2) Orange light is on, but scanner is not reacting (no flashing red-green-blue light) when you move your hand in front of it?
Yes - make sure you...
1) ... have the palm of your hand on the hight of the glass plate.
2) ... are not too far away or too close (easiest done if you start out further away and move it closer slowly; once the scanner starts flashing, you are close enough - stop moving your hand.
3) ... hold your hand in a "firm" high-five (not too loose, overstretched, fingers-pressed-together...)
4) ... are not moving your hand too much once it has started to flash to be able to read your palm.
How to reset a Bio controller manually at the door:
Press the "C" button 3 times in a row and always until it stops beeping
After a moment, the blue light should vanish which indicates the system is rebooting.
After a minute, the system should be back up and working again.
Please inform second level support in case of a needed re-boot so that the source of the problem can be analysed.
If after all these steps the system does still not work, and it is not a general power outage in the area, please contact First Level Support immediately.
