File Server

• In the Finder, select the item "Connect to Server..." in the menu "Go" (Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server)

• Type in the server address: server.tandem-ims.ch (Note: save the name by clicking on the plus sign "+")

• Click on "Connect"

• Type in your first name as a user name (your first name only, no "@tandem-ims.ch")

• Type your password, which is the same to your WEB-Email password

• Select one on several volumes (use apple-shift to select several volumes)

• The file-Server appears as a new drive on the desktop (like an USB stick)

Note: This way of access (file mounting) is only possible when you ar at a Tandem site or if you are connected via VPN.

• Start any browser (Safary, Firefox, Chrome, ...)

• Type in the server address: files.tandem-ims.ch

• Type in your first name to sign in (your first name only, no "@tandem-ims.ch").

• Click on the right arrow

• Type your password, which is the same to your WEB-Email password

• Select one on several volumes (use apple-shift to select several volumes)

• The file-Server appears. Select the needed drive on the left side and the folders/files on the right side

Note: This way of access (WEB browser) is only possible via internet outside of any Tandem sites, no access in Tandem or via VPN.

Our file server (Synology RS181+), stores the data on several hard disk making the system insensitive against hard drive failure.

In addition, all stored data is regularly backed up to 3 independent destinations:

1. Daily backup on another dedicated Tandem server located on an other Tandem site.

2. Daily cloud backup to www.idrive.com located in Ireland.

3. Weekly cloud backup to Amazon called S3
